Microsoft Brings Bing Chat to Mobile Web Browsers

Months after it’s launch, Microsoft is bringing Bing Chat to mobile browsers, including third-party ones.

This expands the scope of use for Bing Chat, which aggressively competes against ChatGPT and Google Bard. This aside, Microsoft is also adding Windows Copilot to Windows 11, which too is powered by Bing Chat.

Bing Chat on Mobile Browsers

Triggered by ChatGPT’s craze, Microsoft has quickly brought the technology behind ChatGPT – GPT LLM to it’s suite of products through a grand investment in OpenAI. The integration started over six months ago and the company’s Edge browser is the most profited one from OpenAI’s partnership.

Microsoft introduced Bing Chat – an AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s GPT LLM that can answer queries, make images etc, in seconds. This got many people to try the Edge browser, which Microsoft has long hoped for. And since Bing Chat is a hit, Redmond has expanded it’s offering to third-party web browsers, aside from launching dedicated mobile apps.

And now, Microsoft is bringing Bing Chat to mobile browsers, where people of Chrome, Firefox or Safari can access Bing Chat without installing the app or setting up Bing search. This will eventually expand the scope of Bing Chat, which has “seen nine consecutive quarters of growth on Edge”, says Microsoft.

Since it’s launch in February, Bing Chat has recorded over a million chats and made over 750 million images, says the maker. This aside, Microsoft is also working to add Windows Copilot, powered by Bing Chat, to Windows 11 soon. The company was seen testing this sidebar in the latest Windows 11 builds and it may roll out later this year.
