iQOO 16 Camera Details Leaked: 50MP Main Sensor, Periscope Zoom, and 165Hz 2K Display Expected

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is working on its next generation flagship, the iQOO 16. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has recently revealed imaging details about this device. According to the leak, the engineering prototype of the iQOO 16 features a 50MP primary camera paired with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor. This setup is expected to deliver improved low-light performance, better dynamic range, and enhanced image clarity. Earlier reports had suggested that iQOO was internally testing both 200MP and 50MP primary camera options, but the latest prototype appears to favor the 50MP sensor.

The device is also tipped to include a periscope telephoto camera equipped with a medium-sized sensor. While exact zoom capabilities have not been revealed yet, the inclusion of a periscope lens indicates that the iQOO 16 could offer significantly improved long-range photography and high-quality optical zoom performance. Details regarding the ultra-wide camera remain unknown for now, although rumors suggest that the phone may continue with a triple 50MP rear camera system.

Under the hood, the iQOO 16 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, reportedly carrying the model number SM8975. The flagship device is also rumored to feature a 6.85-inch Samsung-made display with 2K resolution and an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate.
