As devices age, their OEMs begin to lose interest in pushing out updates for them. This first begins with smartphones and tablets receiving less Android security updates and then stop receiving major Android version updates. This is why custom ROMs are so popular and below is a list of every device supported by Lineage OS.
Android is an open source operating system that has transcended smartphones. It has evolved into software for tablets, smartwatches (even though that has been rebranded as Wear OS), and even full-on desktop/laptop operating systems. Projects including Bluestacks and the Android-x86 platform have revitalized many PCs that have at one time or another been retired.
Along with those projects for other platforms, it also means that community developers can build their own firmware for a device. This is what we generally call a custom ROM and the most popular one available right now is known as LineageOS). Just about every other custom ROM available for an Android device is based on Lineage OS with additional features added on top of it.
List of Devices Supported by Lineage OS
I may earn a small commission for purchases made using links to devices on this page.
When smartphone and tablet manufacturers stop pushing out OTA updates to their older devices it can be quite annoying. Again, not only do you lose security updates but you also stop receiving major Android version updates which almost always come with some great new features. So I wanted to compile an easy to scan list of devices that actively have support for the most popular custom ROM available.
The version will depend on how old the phone or tablet is, plus how active the community developer is. But every single device listed below is currently receiving weekly updates (which sometimes includes new security patches, new features, etc.). This way, you’ll have a place to go to that you can always check to see which devices are currently supported one of the latest versions of Android.
Note – LineageOS has phased out official support for version 14. Devices listed under the crossed out LOS v14 sections are devices that have not been updated to v15 yet. If you own a device in this list then I recommend checking out the XDA forum for it to see if there are unofficial builds available.

So there we have it. These are the devices that are currently supported by LineageOS. Some of these devices receive new version 14.1 builds each week, some receive new version 15.1 builds each week and (as of writing this) version 16 is coming in the near future. A list of supported devices like this is difficult to keep up to date so if you see something wrong, then feel free to contact me.
These emails can pertain to inaccurate version listings, newly supported devices, retired devices, etc. For those curious about what is offered in this custom ROM, be sure to check out the LineageOS tips, tricks, and features I have previously covered.
