Redmi Note 4 gallery issue

Even though you can easily see a previously captured image or video on your android smartphone, the location where you can see the images and videos you have ever shot in the past and have not deleted from your device is referred to as ‘Gallery’ in Android devices. You can easily open the ‘Gallery’ by finding its icon. It might be on the Home Screen or even in a folder in your Redmi Note 4 device.

If you are having any Redmi Note 4 gallery issue, like gallery not opening in Redmi 4, here are the steps to resolve the issue:

Closed Gallery, No Required Permissions Error – When you click on the gallery icon on your Redmi 4 smartphone, it does not open and displays a message ‘Closed gallery, no required permission’. It means that when you click on Gallery to open it, the Gallery does not get the access to storage and instead an error message appears. To resolve this issue perform the following steps:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ from the menu of your Redmi Note 4 device. You can find the Settings icon on your mobile and click on it to get access to the Settings of your phone. Or Just bring down the notification bar and there you will see a gear icon on the top right corner. Click on it to go to Settings directly.
  2. Once you have gotten access to the Settings menu, scroll down the screen to ‘Installed Apps’ and click on it.
  3. In ‘Installed apps’ on your mobile, you will see options such as ‘All’, ‘Running’, ‘Downloaded’ and more. You need to click on ‘All’ in order to select all the installed apps.
  4. After selecting ‘All’ installed apps, scroll down the screen and look for the ‘Gallery’ application. Once you have found the ‘Gallery’ app, click on it.
  5. Once you have gotten access to Gallery apps, scroll the page down until you see the ‘App Permissions’ option. Then click on it to open the ‘App Permissions’.
  6. In the ‘App Permissions’, you will find no less than three options, ‘Contact’, ‘Storage’, and ‘Telephone’ and more. At times, you will find these options enabled and other times, disabled. If these options are enabled, then disable them and then enable them again. Alternatively, if inside the storage permission, the Storage option is disabled, then enable it.
  7. Once you are done with storage option, go back to the ‘gallery’ app by pressing back button on your Redmi 4 mobile. In the top part of the page, you will find the ‘Clear Cache’ option. Click on it so as to clear all the Cache of the ‘Gallery’ app.
  8. Once you have cleared the cache of the gallery app, go to the bottom of the Gallery app info section. There you will find ‘Force Stop’ option. Click on this option and the gallery issue will be resolved.
