Xiaomi has officially teased the arrival of a new REDMI Note smartphone in India, with the device expected to be the new REDMI Note 17 which was recently launched in China. The teaser has gone live on both Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official website, hinting that the company is preparing to launch its next mid-range smartphone in the country very soon.
While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the device’s name, industry reports suggest the REDMI Note 17 could make its India debut on August 6, with sales reportedly beginning on August 11. The teaser heavily emphasizes battery life with the tagline, “When the days get longer, the mAhster takes over. The all-new REDMI Note is built to outlast them all,” strongly indicating the arrival of the model that features an enormous 8,000mAh battery.
The Indian variant is expected to closely resemble the version that recently launched in China. It is tipped to feature a 7 inch 120Hz OLED display, an 8,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The base model is expected to offer 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi is also expected to provide four years of Android OS updates and five years of security patches.
For photography, the smartphone will feature a 50MP primary rear camera alongside an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. As for pricing, recent leaks claim the REDMI Note 17 could be priced at around ₹30,000 in India.
