Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 series in China in the coming weeks. The lineup is expected to include two models, the Redmi Turbo 5 and the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. Recently, a reliable Chinese tipster, Panda is Bald, has shed light on their processors, battery capacities, and charging capabilities.
According to Weibo tipster, both smartphones in the Redmi Turbo 5 series will be powered by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. The standard Redmi Turbo 5 is said to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC, while the more premium Redmi Turbo 5 Pro could debut with the higher-end Dimensity 9500e chipset.
The Dimensity 8500 is tipped to be based on TSMC’s 4nm process and could offer clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz, promising a balance of performance and efficiency. On the other hand, the Dimensity 9500e is expected to use a more advanced 3nm manufacturing process, with a peak clock speed of around 3.73GHz, positioning it as a flagship-grade chipset. Both SoCs are also likely to feature advanced Mali GPUs for improved gaming and graphics performance.
In addition to processor details, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro has reportedly appeared on China’s 3C certification platform with model number 2602BRT18C. The listing confirms the support for 100W fast charging. The Pro model is also expected to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, making it the smartphone with the largest battery capacity Redmi has ever shipped, while the standard Redmi Turbo 5 could feature an 8,000mAh battery with similar 100W charging support.
