The smartphone is shaping up to be a photography powerhouse, with new details from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station revealing major camera advancements, including next-generation LOFIC technology and an exclusive lens system.

According to the latest leak, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a large main camera sensor which was previously leaked to be 1 inch with an f/1.6 aperture and LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology which is a next-gen imaging innovation designed to improve light handling and minimize glare. The new sensor is also said to have the industry’s highest dynamic range value.
The sensor is said to achieve an effective aperture of around f/4.5, allowing better low-light performance without compromising detail. The star of the setup, however, is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens designed for medium- and long-range zoom. With an effective aperture near f/8.6, it’s expected to deliver sharp, high-contrast images even at longer focal lengths. The tipster has also mentioned Xiaomi’s exclusive full-lens optical system, likely to be a continuous optical zoom system which will also debut here.
On the design side, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will have a signature large circular camera module in the centre with lens arrangement being a mirror image of the previous generation 15 Ultra.
