Xiaomi is gearing up to release its Xiaomi 17 Series very soon in the global market, following China’s launch last year. However, the news about the next generation Xiaomi 18 Series has already started coming out, with the high-end Xiaomi 18 Pro Max said to undergo major camera changes.
According to renowned Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 18 Series is currently evaluating 200MP main cameras. Even more exciting, the top-end Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is reportedly being tested with a dual 200MP camera setup, featuring a 200MP primary sensor paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens.
Earlier, we had only seen Xiaomi using a 200MP periscope camera for its Ultra model. But now decentralising it to the Pro Max model will increase the competitiveness of the entire line-up.
As of now, there is not much information about the 18 Series, but the smartphones are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro chipsets based on 3nm and 2nm architecture. The devices will also see enhancements in display quality, which is a normal routine for every year’s flagships. However, another worth seeing will be the battery capacity. The Xiaomi 18 Series is expected to have an 8000mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.
