Google Pixel 6

Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro have received a lot of positive reviews since their release. The company has relied heavily on its in-house system on chip to offer some exclusive features.

However, one thing has come up time and time again since the release of this device and it has to do with the slow fingerprint sensor on this device.

We have seen many people complaining that the fingerprint sensor on this device is not being fast enough and not being sufficiently accurate. Many people believe that it would be better if the device had a traditional sensor on the back of the phone.

Sometimes this accuracy issue has to do with people using a glass screen protector. But this issue has also been brought up by people who refuse to use glass screen protectors.

So, in this article, we are going to be showing you a setting hidden within this phone that has been shown to improve both the accuracy as well as the speed of the fingerprint sensor on Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro.

Method One:

If you are having any issues with the fingerprint sensor on the Google Pixel 6 or the 6 Pro device, the first thing you should do is:

Go to settings.

Scroll down a little bit until you see the Display option and open it.

In-display option, scroll down a little bit more to find the “Other display control” section and you should see a toggle labeled “increase touch sensitivity”.

Turn that toggle on. What this option does is improve the touch when using screen protectors. However, it has also helped people who are not using any screen protectors as well.

So, if you are having an issue with the speed or accuracy of your Google Pixel 6 fingerprint sensor go ahead and enable this feature and give it a try.

Method Two:

Another thing that we recommend that will improve this sensor is by creating multiple fingerprints on the device.

Go to the settings application.

Tap on the security menu.

Navigate the fingerprint unlock option and add multiple fingerprints.

Most people add fingerprints before they add a glass screen protector and it is actually recommended to add your fingerprints after a screen protector has been installed.

If you added a fingerprint to the device before you installed the glass screen protector, go ahead and add another fingerprint to your device.

Even if you are not using a screen protector again and if you are not satisfied with the accuracy of the speed of your fingerprint sensor go ahead and add multiple fingerprints with the same finger. It will improve both the speed and accuracy of the Google Pixel 6 fingerprint sensor.

With that second fingerprint added go ahead and test your device since it has multiple fingers to compare against, you’re likely going to get a faster response time by having multiple fingerprints added for the same finger.

Method Three:

The third method is to disable the fingerprint animation, as you can see when you unlock your device there comes a fairly long animation.

Again, go to settings.

Open developer options.

Scroll down a little bit and navigate the window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animator duration scale.

Tap on these animation options one by one and select either the 0.5 option or the animation off option.

These are the three methods through which you can improve the speed and accuracy of the fingerprint sensor on your Google Pixel 6 and the Google Pixel 6 Pro.
