REDMI is preparing to expand its popular K90 series with the launch of the REDMI K90 Ultra in China on June 30. The new smartphone is positioned as a gaming-centric flagship device, bringing dedicated gaming hardware, advanced cooling technology, and high-end performance features at a competitive price point.
The REDMI K90 Ultra will be launched on June 30 at 7 PM China time and is expected to arrive in the CNY 3,000 price segment, which is around ₹41,853. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing has confirmed several key features of the upcoming device, highlighting its focus on sustained gaming performance.
One of the biggest highlights of the REDMI K90 Ultra is its built-in active cooling fan, similar to the one used in the REDMI K90 Max. The cooling system is claimed to reduce temperatures by up to 10°C within 100 seconds, helping maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions.
REDMI claims that the K90 Ultra can deliver 144FPS ultra-high-definition graphics in MOBA games. The smartphone has reportedly been tested for a continuous 180-minute gaming session in a 30°C environment without frequency throttling or frame drops, suggesting strong thermal management and consistent performance.
The device will also include a D2 dedicated gaming graphics chip, esports-grade touch controls, gaming audio enhancements, and landscape network optimisation features. Under the hood, the REDMI K90 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm’s flagship processor introduced in 2024. Although it’s a previous-generation flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite remains a powerful option capable of handling demanding games and heavy multitasking.
The smartphone is also expected to feature a massive battery of over 8,500mAh with support for 100W fast charging.
