Pixel 6 Pro Not Showing Up on PC

Pixel users seem to have been running into a problem where their Pixel 6 Pro not showing up on PC even though it is connected to the PC with a USB cable. Ways to fix Pixel 6 Pro Not Showing Up on PC:

Check the USB Cable – The first thing to check is the USB cable you are using to connect the two devices. Use the cable to connect a different smartphone or device to the PC. If the device shows up on the computer, it means the USB cable is not faulty, and you should use a different solution.

USB Socket of the PC – At times, there may be a problem with the computer’s socket. Connect the USB cable using a different port present on your PC. If the problem persists, then check the next solution.

Connect as MTP – Whenever you connect a smartphone or device to a computer, the phone’s battery begins to charge automatically. It happens for Pixel 6 Pro too. You must change the setting to File Transfer or MTP. On doing this, the smartphone recognizes that it needs to perform a file transfer and then displays itself on the PC. Follow the steps below to change to MTP or File Transfer:

Connect Pixel 6 Pro using a USB cable

You will be notified when the connection is made

Tap on the displayed notification – you will find that it is set on Charging this device. Simply change it to MTP or File Transfer.

Developer Options – You can also set your Pixel 6 Pro to MTP or File Transfer mode by default, so every time you plug it into a PC, you don’t have to change it from charging mode to MTP mode. Here is how you can do it:

Go to Settings

Go to System and scroll to Developer Options

Look for Default USB configuration and tap on it

Next, look for File Transfer or MTP and select the option

Exit to save the changes

Update the Driver of Google Pixel 6 Pro – Having outdated drivers on your system will not support the Pixel 6 Pro. You must have the latest drivers installed on your phone to ensure that the system recognizes your phone. Here is how to update the drivers:

Connect Pixel 6 Pro to the computer with a USB cable

Press Window Key + X and select Device Manager

Expand the Portable Device section by double-clicking it

Locate your smartphone in the list and right-click

You will find the option to Update Driver – click on it

Next you just need to follow the prompts on the screen, and you will be able to install the latest driver after you scan the internet

When the installation is over, restart the computer

Once the drivers are updated, you will be able to use Pixel 6 Pro on your computer.

For Mac Users – If you are a Mac user, then they may not be able to see the Pixel 6 Pro on their system. An Android File Transfer Utility tool will allow you to establish a connection between your Mac system and your Android smartphone.
