How to Fix Snapchat not sending security code?

Snapchat is among the most used social media app and is mostly used by the young generation all over the world. Apart from taking pictures and posting them on stories, the app allows users to communicate with their friends and loved ones through messaging.

It is also widely used for communicating with one another and is the most secure social media app due to it’s privacy and security features. Nowadays, almost every social media platform has a 2 Factor authentication option for better security and privacy. Snapchat also has this feature.

These days security code is required by pretty much every app to log in, especially on mobile devices. For enabling 2 Factor authentication, users have to verify their accounts and for that, they need a security code sent by the platform to them through SMS. After verifying their account and enabling 2 Factor authentication, users need a security code every time they log in to the app.

In this article, we will tell you how to fix log in related issues if you are not getting the Snapchat security code. There are a few methods that you can test, try and one of these methods will resolve the issue.

Get the Snapchat latest version:

Sometimes there is a bug or issue within the app that developers fixed with the latest app update. So if you are not getting the security code, the first thing you need to do is to update your app. if you are using Android then head to the Play Store, search for Snapchat and check if there is any update available. If there is any update then tap on the update to install the latest version of the app. similarly if you are using iOS then head to the app store and do the same thing.

Clear Snapchat cache:

Sometimes cache data is the problem to app solution and only Android users can clear the cache of an app on their device. So, if you are an Android user then this method is for you. Cache data is the temporary data that is downloaded on a device every time a user uses any app. it is very simple and easy to clear or remove cache data of any app and it also improves app performance as well.

To clear the Snapchat cache data, follow the steps below:

  • Log-press on Snapchat loge.
  • A menu will pop up, tap on the App info option.
  • A new window will open, navigate and tap on storage.
  • On the storage page, tap on clear cache data.

Then open the app again and enter your login credentials and log in to the app.

Reset Network Settings:

If the issue didn’t get fixed with the above methods then try to reset the Network setting of your device. You can do this on both Android and iOS. If you are an Android user then follow the steps below.

  • Open the settings app on your device.
  • In the search bar, search Network settings. These settings may be hidden under the different menus in different OEMs.
  • In Network settings, navigate and tap on Reset Network settings.
  • Then tap on the Reset settings button.

If you are an iPhone user then follow the steps below:

  • Open the settings app.
  • Navigate and tap general, select transfer, or reset iPhone.
  • Tap on the reset button.
  • Then tap on reset network settings.

Use Email:

Sometimes there may be issues with your local network so in that case, you can get the security code via emails. Open Snapchat and tap on forget the password. On the next page tap on the Email address to get the security code on the email through which you can also reset your password.

The app will send the security code to your email address, and check your email address to see if you receive any email from Snapchat. Also, remember to check your spam folder as this kind of email usually lands in spam folders.

Check if the app is working:

Check if the app is working properly or not as once in a blue moon, the app server crashes. If the app is not working then you can’t do anything but just wait for the app to go back online. To check if the app is working properly, go to the down detector website and search Snapchat. The website will tell you whether the app is working properly or not.
