Leaked Xiaomi 16 Specs Suggest Big Upgrades Across the Board

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max

The upcoming Xiaomi 16 is shaping up to be a serious contender, with leaked specs via tipster Yogesh Brar pointing to major improvements in display, battery life, camera, and durability.

On the display front, the Xiaomi 16 will feature a 6.3-inch flat 1.5K screen. The screen will use a new technology called Real RGB OLED. Another highlight of the Xiaomi 16 is that it will use LIPO ( Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology. This advanced screen technology enables ultra-thin bezels and an immersive screen-to-body ratio. The ultimate goal is to make the black border of the display thinner than 1.1mm, and when combined with the frame, it will have 1.2 mm of symmetrical bezels all around.

More Details

Xiaomi 16 will be the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Based on TSMC’s 3nm process, it will have a 2+6 core setup wherein the former 2 cores will be prime cores and the rest will be performance cores. The configuration is exactly similar to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, the new chipset will be based on ARM’s V9 architecture. The tipster adds that the Soc will have support for SME1 and SVE2,2, which hints towards the new ARM architecture.

The chipset will feature a 2nd-gen Oryon CPU and an Adreno 840 GPU for gaming and heavy graphics work. As a result, it could hit an AnTuTu score of up to 4.2 million—about 40% higher than the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Photography is another highlight. Xiaomi has equipped the 16 with a 50MP triple-camera system, with the primary being a large 1/1.28-inch Omnivision OV50Q sensor. The phone will be equipped with a 3x telephoto lens powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The front camera is also upgraded to a 50MP resolution.

The battery capacity is also leaked to be a massive 7000mAh with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging. Other peripheral specifications include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, full water & dust proofing.
