Xiaomi 16 Series to Revolutionize Smartphone Displays with Real RGB Dual-Layer OLED Technology

Xiaomi 16

Xiaomi is already developing the next generation of flagship smartphones powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, the Xiaomi 16 Series. Now as per the latest leaks, the Xiaomi 16 Series is expected to be equipped with Xiaomi’s most powerful screens.

As per famous Chinese Blogger Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is testing both Dual-Layer OLED and Real RGB OLED technology on its flagship phones. And the new display tech is expected to arrive by the end of next year.

Real RGB Dual-Layer OLED Technology

Instead of the PenTile arrangement used in traditional OLEDs, Real RGB OLED shares each pixel into red, green and blue sub-pixels that work without interfering with one another. Because of this design, text appears sharper and colors look more accurate, so the image quality is as good as that from top LCDs. Real RGB OLED works to overcome one of the greatest issues with OLED screens, burn-in. Because blue sub-pixels often degrade more than others, this technology’s focus maintains a better and longer working display.

Dual-Layer Tandem OLED: Brighter and More Efficient

Xiaomi 16 Series will also feature a tandem arrangement of OLED layers, giving the screen better brightness, using less power and making it more durable. All these layers add luminance which allows the screen to become brighter while using less energy. Because this system helps screens last longer, it is the perfect choice for devices that must deliver high performance and a lasting lifespan.

Xiaomi 16 Series Leaked Details

The Xiaomi 16 Series will finally switch to the Flat display route for the entire lineup, which includes Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Ultra. Not only this, the 16 Pro will increase the display size to 6.8x inches from the current 6.73 inches on the Xiaomi 15 Series. Xiaomi 16 will continue to follow its small screen route with a 6.36-inch display size.

Another highlight of the Xiaomi 16 Series is that it will use LIPO ( Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology across the entire lineup. This advanced screen technology enables ultra-thin bezels and an immersive screen-to-body ratio. The ultimate goal is to make the black border of the display thinner than 1.1mm, and when combined with the frame, it will have 1.2 mm of symmetrical bezels all around.

The device will feature a new 50MP 1/1.3 inch OV50Q sensor. The sensor also supports LOFIC technology. The new sensor is also said to have fast focusing speed, high dynamic range and lower power consumption compared to previous generation. Moreover Xiaomi 16 Pro is also said to have a new 50MP Periscope camera solution from Sony. This is a significant change from the previous Xiaomi 15 Pro, which had a 50MP IMX 858 sensor. The new sensor will be bigger and paired with a new generation of lenses and a big aperture.
