OnePlus Open 2 Cancelled, Oppo Find N6 Still on Track for China Launch

OnePlus has reportedly halted the development of its next-generation foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open 2, while its parent brand, Oppo, continues to move forward with the Find N6. The development comes from well-known X (formerly Twitter) tipster @heyitsyogesh, who claims that OnePlus has officially cancelled plans for the Open 2, which was expected to be a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N6.

Oppo’s Find N6 development is progressing rapidly and is on track to be launched in China by the end of this quarter. This suggests that while Oppo is continuing its foldable strategy in its home market, OnePlus may be stepping back from the foldable segment, at least for now.

Oppo Find N6 Specifications

The Oppo Find N6 will feature an 8.12-inch 2K LTPO UTG main foldable display, offering ultra-smooth adaptive refresh rates and improved durability thanks to Ultra-Thin Glass. On the outside, the device is said to include a 6.62-inch cover screen, making it practical for everyday use without unfolding. Both displays will reportedly house 20MP front-facing cameras.

Photography appears to be a major focus for the Find N6. The rear camera system is tipped to be a triple camera setup with 50MP+50MP+200MP periscope-style camera, supported by a 2MP multispectral lens. This setup hints at significant improvements in zoom, color accuracy, and low-light performance, potentially placing the Find N6 among the best camera foldables on the market.

Under the hood, the Oppo Find N6 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising top-tier performance and efficiency. The device may come in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, with storage options going up to a massive 1TB. The battery size is expected to be a 6000mAh battery, which is impressive for a foldable. Despite its large battery and advanced hardware, the Find N6 is rumored to weigh just 225 grams.
