Realme Partners with Ricoh for Next-Gen Camera Tuning on the Upcoming GT 8 Pro

Realme has officially announced its partnership with Ricoh, a legendary name in imaging technology, to elevate the camera experience on its upcoming flagship, the Realme GT 8 Pro. This collaboration marks Realme’s most ambitious step toward professional mobile photography.

The Realme GT 8 Pro is shaping up to be a powerhouse for photography enthusiasts and is officially confirmed to launch on October 14 in China. It will debut with a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor, measuring 1/1.56 inches in size, paired with an f/2.1 aperture and a 70mm focal length. This setup promises stunning clarity, depth, and versatility across shooting conditions. Notably, the periscope also supports a 10cm macro distance, allowing users to capture close-up with great detail. Overall, the camera setup of Realme GT 8 Pro is very versatile, featuring a 50MP 1/1.5’ main camera and a 50MP Ultrawide camera as well. Thanks to the new imaging partnership and Realme’s very first 200MP periscope camera, the GT 8 Pro is the brand’s most powerful photography device in its history.

More Details

The display is one of the strongest improvements. The phone is expected to have a 2K LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) display, a notch higher than the 1.5K screen of its predecessor, the GT 7 Pro. The upgrade marks an emphasis on the realm towards better pixel density and power efficiency.

Not only this, the GT 8 Pro will also adopt a flat display design compared to the quad curved display of the previous generation. The display will adopt a large R-angle curvature and a 19:5:9 screen aspect ratio, making it more harmonious when watching content or playing games.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 8 Pro will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This next-gen SoC from Qualcomm brings significant performance and efficiency improvements, offering cutting-edge AI processing, GPU rendering, and thermal management. The chipset features a 2nd-gen Oryon CPU and an Adreno 840 GPU for gaming and heavy graphics work. As a result, it could hit an AnTuTu score of up to 4 million—about 30% higher than the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.

And of course, we cannot forget about the battery capacity. Realme has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to battery capacity, and the upcoming GT 8 Pro will not be any different. Just like competition, the device will also be packed with an ultra-large 7500mAh silicon carbon battery paired with fast 100W wired and wireless charging technology. The smartphone will also be equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for a more secure and efficient fingerprint unlocking experience.
