REDMI is actively developing next-generation K series smartphones, tentatively called the REDMI K100 Series. The series will have 2 devices, namely K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which will debut this year, with K100 Max/K100 Ultra to be launched next year. The latest details come from a reliable Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station, who shared key information about the Pro variant on Weibo.
According to the leak, the REDMI K100 Pro is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The device may feature a relatively compact 6.59-inch display with a high-resolution 1.5K panel and an ultra-high refresh rate for smoother visuals and gaming performance.
One of the biggest highlights of the smartphone could be its advanced camera setup. The REDMI K100 is tipped to include a massive 200MP primary camera using a large 1/1.56-inch sensor. Alongside it, the phone may feature a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS). Interestingly, the telephoto camera is also expected to support telephoto macro photography with the ability to focus from as close as 10cm.
The smartphone is also rumored to pack a huge 8,000mAh battery, paired with support for 100W wired charging as well as wireless charging. Additional features may include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, symmetrical dual speakers powered by BOSE, and IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
