Xiaomi’s sub-brand REDMI is developing the next generation REDMI Note, the REDMI Note 17 Series. The series will contain three smartphones: REDMI Note 17, Note 17 Pro, and Note 17 Pro Max. As per tipster @heyitsyogesh on X, the global version of the REDMI Note 17 will feature a dual rear camera system, bringing a different approach compared to some previous REDMI Note series models that included more camera sensors.
The leaked information suggests that REDMI is opting for a simpler dual-camera setup, focusing on improving image quality and overall camera performance rather than adding extra sensors. The primary camera is expected to have a 50MP sensor with OIS and the secondary sensor could be an ultrawide sensor.
Along with the camera details, the design of the rear camera module has also caught attention. The REDMI Note 17 is expected to feature a redesigned camera deco that appears similar to the design language used on an older realme smartphone. The tipster has not shared any image on what the design could look like so we have to wait for official information from REDMI itself.
The launch timeline is currently unknown, but it is expected to debut in China by August 2026, with Global and India debuts planned by the end of this year.
