The devices in both series come with slightly better specifications and at a competitive price. Many devices from Xiaomi, Realme, Tecno, and Infinix come with this chipset. It is a budget octa-core chipset with two ARM Cortex A75 clocked at 2.0 GHz and six ARM Cortex A55 which is clocked at 1.8 GHz. MediaTek Helio G80 is quite capable of SoC at a budget price and can easily run day-to-day apps and tasks. Geekbench shows a single-core score of 374 and a multi-core score of 1361. These scores are not quite good but are similar to those of competitors at this price range. These Geekbench scores are also similar to the unreleased Galaxy M32, powered by the Same MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. Samsung as the company, has a history of using the same chipsets on multiple devices especially in budget/mid-range devices. The company usually differentiates its budget devices in terms of display quality, battery capacity, charging speed, and camera quality.

Samsung Galaxy M22 comes with a 6.4-inch Samsung-made super AMOLED display and has a U-shaped notch at the top center. This is quite a dated design as mostly OEMs are now shifted towards a punch hole cut out for selfie cameras even on budget devices. The main rear camera is 48 MP and it also has a 6000 mAh battery which is similar to its predecessor Galaxy M21.
