Vivo X300 Series has been launched across the global market, gaining widespread recognition for its camera capabilities. However, Vivo has already started the development of its next-generation Vivo X500 Series. Vivo might skip the name Vivo X400 Series, since it involves the number 4, which is considered unlucky in the Chinese market.
A new report has now confirmed the existence of the Vivo X500 Pro Max after the device appeared in the IMEI database, revealing that Vivo is preparing a fourth model in the X500 family alongside the Vivo X500e, X500, and X500 Pro.
According to reports, the Vivo X500 series is expected to debut in September this year, although it remains unclear whether all four models will launch simultaneously. The X500 Pro Max is expected to sit at the top of the lineup until the Vivo X500 Ultra arrives sometime in the first half of 2027.
As per Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X500 Pro Max could feature a large 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED display, offering a premium visual experience. Under the hood, the device is rumored to be powered by a Dimensity 9600-series chipset paired with a massive 8,000mAh battery. The phone may also support 100W wired and wireless charging.
The biggest highlight, however, appears to be the camera system. Tipster claims that Vivo is heavily focusing on imaging upgrades for the X500 lineup. The Dimensity-powered models are reportedly being tested with 50MP primary cameras using ultra-large 1/1.28-inch sensors, which are believed to be based on Sony’s upcoming LYT-838 sensor.
Additionally, the higher-end Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are tipped to feature advanced LOFIC sensor technology. This technology helps improve dynamic range and reduces overexposure in difficult lighting conditions, potentially delivering significantly better photography performance.
