OPPO is preparing to release its next-generation mid-premium line-up, the OPPO Reno 16 series. According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station, both the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro are expected to bring flagship-level hardware along with a brand-new “intelligent electronic screen” feature.
The higher-end OPPO Reno 16 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The device will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, paired with a massive 7,000mAh battery. The phone is also expected to support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. OPPO will also introduce a premium metal frame design for added durability and a flagship feel.
In terms of cameras, the Reno 16 Pro could include a powerful triple-camera setup consisting of a 200MP HP5 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.
Meanwhile, the standard OPPO Reno 16 is expected to arrive with a more compact 6.32-inch 1.5K flat OLED display and the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset. Despite its smaller size, the phone may still pack a large 6,700mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
Interestingly, the regular Reno 16 is rumored to feature the same camera hardware as the Pro model, including the 200MP main camera and periscope telephoto lens.
Another highlight of the series is the new “intelligent electronic screen.” While OPPO has not officially revealed details, it will be interesting to see what this new screen feature turns out to be.
