Xiaomi is already developing the next generation of flagship smartphones powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, the Xiaomi 16 Series. However, this time the series will also have a ‘Pro Max’ model, named Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. The basic difference between the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Pro Max will be in screen size! The 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch flat screen, whereas the Pro Max will have a 6.8-inch flat screen.
Recently, Digital Chat Station leaked some new camera specifications regarding the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max variant. As per him, the phone will be equipped with a 5x telephoto lens powered by Samsung’s latest ISOCELL GN8 sensor, promising exceptional imaging capabilities across zoom and video performance.
The ISOCELL GN8 is a 1/1.95-inch sensor with a 50MP resolution, offering 0.8μm pixel size. It also supports advanced video capabilities, including 8K video recording at 30 frames per second and 4K recording at a stunning 120FPS. One of the standout features of the sensor is Super QPD (Quad Phase Detection), which dramatically improves autofocus speed and accuracy. This is especially beneficial in low-light or fast-moving scenes. Combined with the 5x periscope telephoto lens, users can expect crisp, detailed shots even at long distances. Xiaomi 16 Pro Max will feature a triple camera setup of 50MP + 50MP + 50MP. The main camera will be a 1/1.28 inch sensor from SmartSens.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max Leak Details
Xiaomi 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.8-inch 2K flat display. The previous two generations have embraced the micro quad curved display, so this was a very surprising decision. A lot of brands have now evaluated the flat displays for their Flagships in the future.
Another highlight of the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max is that it will use LIPO ( Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology. This advanced screen technology enables ultra-thin bezels and an immersive screen-to-body ratio. The ultimate goal is to make the black border of the display thinner than 1.1mm, and when combined with the frame, it will have 1.2 mm of symmetrical bezels all around.
Given its large size, the Pro Max variant will be equipped with a large 7500mAh battery with high-density silicon content for better battery life cycle and efficiency. And it will be paired with fast 100W wired and 50W wireless charging technology. Together with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which is based on TSMC 3NE fabrication, we can expect leading battery endurance, which can easily give a backup of more than a day.
