Xiaomi 18 Pro Series to Debut With 2K Display Privacy Display Technology

Xiaomi is in full swing with the development of the 18 Pro series, which is expected to be launched in September. According to leaks from well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is testing several major upgrades that could make the next-generation flagship lineup one of the company’s most ambitious smartphone releases yet.

The biggest highlight of the leak is a new privacy display technology reportedly being tested on the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The feature is said to combine hardware and software solutions to reduce viewing angles, helping prevent others from seeing the screen content in public places. This approach is similar to the hardware-based Privacy Display introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which received positive feedback for offering better privacy without significantly affecting the user’s viewing experience.

However, Xiaomi’s implementation may be different. Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Pro could use a hybrid system, combining a dedicated display layer with software optimisation. This also matches Xiaomi’s development direction with HyperOS 4, which is expected to include software-based privacy features. The final performance will depend on whether Xiaomi relies more on specialised display hardware or software processing.

Another upgrade is the display resolution. As per the tipster, Xiaomi 18 Pro Series will debut with a 2K resolution screen with real RGB technology, unlike the previous generation, which was a 1.5 K real RGB screen. All these display upgrades make the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Series the brand’s most standout flagship in a long time.
