Xiaomi leads the Indian Smartphone shipment in Q3 of 2022

Xiaomi again leads the Indian Smartphone market in Q3 of 2022 with a 21% market share as per the latest report from research firm Counterpoint. Overall Indian smartphone shipments declined by 11 percent in Q3 of this year as 45 million smartphones shipped in this quarter.

Chinese OEMs again sold the most number of smartphones in India as four out of the top five OEMs are from China. Xiaomi is the top-selling smartphone brand in India in Q3 of 2022 as it sold 21 percent of the total smartphones in India. Samsung came in the second spot with 18 percent of the market share. Samsung is followed by Vivo and RealMe as they came in third and fourth spots respectively and the fifth spot is taken by Oppo.

Apple also saw the highest number of shipments in India in Q3 of 2022 as for the first time it takes 5 percent of the smartphone market share in India. Among the smartphones, iPhone 13 was the best-selling premium smartphone in India in Q3 of 2022 beating the flagships from Samsung and Xiaomi.

The reports highlight that the Indian smartphone market declined by 11 percent year on year in Q3 of 2022 as there was a shipment of 45 million units in the said quarter. Xiaomi’s shipments saw a decline of 19 percent on a year-to-year basis as compared to the same quarter last year but still, it manages to retain the top spot with a 21 percent market share. Xiaomi also sold the most number of 5G smartphones in the said quarter in India in the sub Rs 20,000 price bracket.

Samsung came in the second spot with 18 percent of the market share and it is the bestselling smartphone brand in India in September. The company also sold the most number of smartphones in the mid-range category due to the high demand for it’s M series and the F series in the Rs. 10,000 to 20,000 price bracket. The South Korean smartphone giant is also the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the premium segment in Q3 of 2022 in India.
