OPPO’s sub-brand Oneplus is developing its next generation flagship the OnePlus 16. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 will be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC, expected to deliver a significant leap in performance and efficiency.
In a recent post on Weibo, the tipster shared key specifications of the device, with a strong focus on its display technology. The OnePlus 16 is said to feature a custom 6.78-inch LTPO panel with 1.5K resolution, likely manufactured by BOE. The display is rumored to be surrounded by ultra-slim bezels measuring approximately 1mm on all sides, thanks to LIPO technology.
One of the standout features of the display is its refresh rate. The panel is tipped to support a refresh rate of 185Hz and the brand is planning to go as high as 240Hz which is the highest refresh rate display ever seen on a smartphone. Additionally, the inclusion of a custom touch control IC is expected to enhance responsiveness, particularly for gaming and high-speed interactions. The device will also support the BT.2020 color gamut which ensures richer and more accurate color reproduction.
Apart from the display the device is also expected to house a massive 9,000mAh battery, complemented by 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
