WatchOS 10 Announcement

While everyone is hyped about Apple’s all-new mixed-reality headset and a 15″ MacBook Air, the company is exciting the smartwatch community with a new update – WatchOS 10 at the WWDC 2023 event.

Touted as the biggest revamp Apple Watch received in recent times, WatchOS 10 adds new widgets to help users find important contextual information at a glance. Also, WatchOS 10 is grabbing some features from iOS, like pushing medication reminders or calendar alerts.

The new update has redesigned apps to be more helpful and easily accessible, while two new watch faces extends the user’s option. These include a color-palette theme face and another featuring the Peanuts characters Snoopy and Woodstock.

WatchOS 10 also comes with more metrics and workout views for cycling and a new mood-logging feature to the Mindfulness app. Alongside, the Compass app can now display the last area where you had cell reception, which is extremely helpful in your hiking trails.

All these new features and improvements will roll out in the coming months, with the latest Watch series being the priority ones to receive all of these first. Apple says it’s compatible with Watch Series 4 or later, and iPhone XR/XS or later.

All these make Apple smartwatches an interesting device to buy when compared to the WearOS alternatives from Samsung and Pixel.
