Elon Musk Fired Twitter CEO, Moments After Acquiring it

Months after proposing to buy entirely, Elon Musk has finally closed the acquisition deal of Twitter today. And the very first thing he did was to fire some of the key executives, including the CEO.

Others like Chief Financial Officer, general counsel, and Twitter’s top policy official, were dismissed too. Musk pledged to remove the spam bots on Twitter and make the platform open-source, so everyone can understand how it’s content recommendations work.

Elon Musk Takes Charge of Twitter

The long-standing argument of Elon Musk buying his favorite social media platform – Twitter has, finally come to an end on Thursday. Musk completed the acquisition deal worth $44 billion a day before the supposed deadline of Friday.

Walking into Twitter’s Headquarters with a sink, Musk interacted with the company’s employees. While he opened up about job losses, he assured the firing wouldn’t be as high as 75% of the total working staff.

Well, he did fire the company’s top executives anyway, including the CEO Parag Agarwal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, General Counsel Sean Edgett, and Twitter’s top policy official Vijaya Gadde. Among them, “at least one” executive was escorted from the company’s office on Thursday.

Aside from this, Musk had reportedly brought in some Tesla engineers to “assess” Twitter’s code and wishes to open-source it for public view soon! This is to let people know how Twitter recommends content suggestions.

He also wanted to relax the existing moderation rules on the platform, which may allow more people to talk without any hesitation. Also, there’s a strong possibility that we may see the banned Donald Trump account showing up again.

Though most ideas seem like breaking Twitter’s grace, Musk assured that he won’t make it a “free-for-all hellscape” for the advertisers but want it to be the “most respected advertising platform in the world.”
