We are almost at the end of the year, and Spotify Wrapped 2021 is now available. But Apple Music subscribers are wondering if the app has a similar function where they can recap their playlist for the year. Moreover, Spotify customers can see how much time they have spent listening and exploring genres. But where does this leave Apple Music fans? The short answer is that there is no true end-of-year wrap-up for Apple Music users which means they don’t have a Spotify Wrapped equivalent. But they do have something called Apple Music Replay, which shows users their top songs and artists of the year without flashy graphics.
Like Spotify, these statistics are refreshed and updated each year; however, Apple apparently decided to refresh them in February and update them weekly, so you are not technically getting your yearly numbers like Spotify users. Furthermore, Apple seems to try to make it as difficult as possible to find your stats, as they don’t appear in the Apple Music app as they do in Spotify, and you won’t receive any emails about it.
Fortunately, if you use Apple Music, we can show you how to view all of your music data. So, continue reading.
How To Use Apple Music Replay
You can listen to Apple Music Replay playlists on your iPhone or iPad, but you will need to check in on the web to access the more specific information mentioned above.
At first, go to the “Listen Now” tab in the Apple Music app
Then, scroll down to “Apple Music Replay.”
Now, sign in with your Apple ID
Click on the Get Your Replay Mix button on the Apple Music Replay website
After that, you will be greeted with a statistics page for the previous year. Scroll through to see how you have listened to music this year and take screenshots to share with your buddies.
Apple Music Replay is not as comprehensive as Spotify Wrapped, including data on the most famous artists, genres, songs, podcasts, and minutes listened. Spotify also offers add-ons such as “The Movie,” which mixes popular songs with famous movie scenes, and “2021 Wrapped Blend,” which compares each user’s listening preferences to those of their friends.
In addition, Spotify’s year-end feature is significantly more comprehensive than anything Apple offers. So far, Apple has declined to build a proper year-end highlight reel, so Replay is the best Apple Music users will get for now.
