Moto Razr 2022

As announced earlier, Motorola revealed it’s Moto Razr 2022 clamshell folding device a day after Samsung unveiled it’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device comes with the flagship internals and is the first flagship device from Motorola in 2022. It is the third generation of the folding device from Motorola and improves the shortcomings of the previous two generations. Check out the detailed specification of the device below.

Motorola Razr 2022 Specifications:

Lenovo-owned Motorola has upgraded the design of the device and it now feels much better than the previous two generations. This time there is no big chin at the bottom and the design looks more polished and refined.

It features a main display of a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED panel with a fast 144Hz refresh rate. The display comes with HRR10+ support, pixel resolutions of 2400×1080, and 10-bit colors. Motorola brings a fast refresh rate of 144Hz than the Galaxy Z Flip 4 which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate display.

One of the main aspects of the folding device is it’s hinge and this time Motorola has also made improvements to the hinge to make the device more durable. Motorola implemented a teardrop shape on the display which reduces the crease on the screen.

When folded, the device has a cover display which is more useful than the recently launched Z Flip 4. Moto Razr 2022 has a 2.7-inch cover display with 800 x 573 pixels resolution. The cover display can be used to see notifications, weather information, fitness goals, calls, and much more.

The device is powered by the Flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 plus Gen 1 chipset which is also a big upgrade over the previous generation. If you remember the last two generations came with a Mid-range Snapdragon 765G chipset at a $1500 price tag. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on near-to-stock Android 12 out of the box. There is a 3500 mAh battery cell that supports 33W fast wired charging. The battery seems on the lower side but it supports faster charging than the Z Flip 4.

In the camera department, Motorola brings significant upgrades to the camera system. There is a dual-camera system on the rear side that includes a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 121-degree field of view. On the display is a 32MP selfie shooter housed in a centered punch-hole cutout. The device is currently announced in China at a starting price of CNY 5,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant.
