Oppo Reno8 will be the first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC

Oppo Reno8 series is rumored to be the first device to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC along with a Dimensity SoC coupled with Mari Silicon X ISP. If these rumors are true, then the upcoming flagship from Chinese OEM, Oppo Reno8 will be the first device to feature an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

This rumor comes from a popular tipster that goes by the name Digital Chat Station who also posted a few details about the upcoming Reno device that has a model number PGAM10.

The upcoming flagship device from Oppo will feature a 6.55-inch OLED display with a high 120 Hz refresh rate. On the rear side, it will have a triple camera system that contains a 50 MP Sony IMX 766 main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP sensor which might be a macro or a telephoto lens.

The Reno device with the model number PGAM10 will also have a 32 MP selfie camera placed in a punch-hole cutout on the top right of the display. There will be an in-display fingerprint scanner for additional security and a 4500 mAh battery pack that will support 80W wired fast charging.

The upcoming Oppo Reno8 device will also be the first device to come with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The unannounced chipset from Qualcomm will be an octa-core chipset built on 4nm fabrication and feature four Cortex A710 cores and four Cortex A510 cores along with Adreno 662 GPU.

As per rumors, there will be at least two devices in the series i.e., the Pro Model and the vanilla model. The Pro model will rumor to feature a Qualcomm chipset while the standard model will rumor to feature a MediaTek chipset. The Vanilla Oppo Reno8 will likely come with MediaTek Dimensity 8000 or 8100 SoC. The MediaTek chipset will also be an octa-core chipset that comes with slightly old four Cortex A78 and four cortex A 55 cores along with Mali G610 GPU.
