As announced earlier, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched another budget device dubbed Redmi A1 in India. Some of the specifications of the device have already been leaked and now the device is official along with Redmi 11 prime series. It is a budget device that is targeted at consumers who don’t want to spend too much money on a smartphone. It comes with a plastic back with a dual-camera setup arranged in a vertical camera module.
On the front is a slightly old-fashioned waterdrop display. The display is a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. This is a basic display and we cannot expect more from any OEM at this price point.
As mentioned earlier, the device is powered by a mid-range MediaTek Helio A22 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 512GB through a memory card.
For cameras, there is a dual camera system that includes an 8MP primary sensor and an AI-based secondary sensor. For selfies, there is a 5MP front camera housed in a water drop notch at the top center of the display.
It runs on Android 12 out of the box and is equipped with a massive 5000 mAh battery cell with 10W fast wired charging. This battery can give you two days of battery life on normal use. Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type C port for charging. It is priced at INR 6,499 and is exclusively available in the Indian market as of now.
