Samsung is the biggest supplier of displays to Apple for this year’s iPhone 14 series. Apple partnered with three suppliers for iPhone 14 series displays and no doubt like last year, this year Samsung remains the largest supplier of displays to Apple for iPhone 14 series. As per reports, Samsung will produce 82% of the total display for upcoming Apple flagship smartphones.

The report comes from Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross young. The report claims that Samsung’s market share for iPhone 14 displays drop a negligible one percent compare to last year. Last year, Samsung provided 83% of the total displays to Apple for the iPhone 13 series, and this year it will provide 82% of the total displays for iPhone 14 series. This share is huge as compared to the other two suppliers. The other two suppliers are LG electronics with a 12 percent share and BOE with a 6 percent share of total displays.

“By panel supplier, SDC has a remarkable 82% of projected June to September volumes. Last year, SDC had an 83% share of June to September volumes, so they barely lost any ground despite BOE’s and LGD’s efforts. LGD has reportedly been constrained so far this year as we hear it has not yet been qualified to ship iPhone 14 Pro Max panels to Apple through August due to some technical challenges.”

The report also shares the month-wise breakdown of Apple’s display procurement for 2022. It states that the Cupertino-based tech giant procured 1.8 million units of displays in June, 5.35 million units of display in July, and 10 million units of display in August. The tech giant will procure 16.5 million units in September as the announcement of the next generation of iPhones is around the corner. As per some early reports, Apple is planning to ship 90 million iPhone 14 series devices in 2022 so the company will procure the remaining 56 million units in the coming months.
