Vivo X Fold 4 Tipped to Launch in Q3 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Vivo X Fold 4

Vivo is gearing up to release its next generation of foldable phones very soon. The development of the new device is already in pace. Last year, only Vivo launched its X Fold 3 series, and now the brand is readying the next version of its foldable phone lineup, with the phone being supposedly titled as Vivo X Fold 4. Nonetheless, Chinese cultural disdain over the number four may lead to a slight chance that Vivo ditches the number five to name it X Fold 5 instead. Whatever its end up being called, the next Vivo outings will be a major upgrade.

As reported by the famous Chinese Blogger Digital Chat Station, Vivo’s new foldable will be released during Q3 2025. Even the device was not confirmed to be named, but all the signs are pointing to the successor to the X Fold 3 series. One of the most tipped upgrades coming our way is the addition of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This is a considerable rise from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that was found to power X Fold 3, promising better performance and enhanced AI capabilities.

Vivo X Fold 4

Although there is currently no information about the Pro variant, following its past strategy, Vivo may potentially equip the X Fold 3 Pro’s successor with the even more mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This would make Vivo competitive against competitors like Samsung and Huawei in the foldable smartphone section.

Blogger also said that Vivo X Fold 4 will arrive with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Photography fans also have plenty of reasons to get excited since the folding device is expected to feature a more advanced camera package that includes a setup comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope zoom lens for advanced zooming, and an ultra-wide-angle sensor for capturing plenty of the scene in one shot.

Durability and usability will also have big improvements. The phone is tipped to include a new hinge design intended to reduce the crease down the length of the fold, a problem for many foldable phone users. This new hinge will also supposedly provide more durability for the entire phone.

The Vivo X Fold 4 is likely to feature a large AMOLED screen with a high refresh rate and ultra-slim bezels, providing an unobstructed visual experience at play, video playback, or multitasking. We might also hear mentions of wireless charging support and IPX8 water resistance to make it one of the most durable foldables out there.

Launch Timeline

There are currently no official details about when this device will be launched, but as per leaks, Vivo will launch the X Fold 4 in Q3 2025 in China. Regarding the Global Launch, it is yet to be confirmed, but as per previous records, we can expect this device to launch in selected Asian countries.
