The Xiaomi 16 Series has been making waves for the last few months. The devices are set to launch in China by the end of this month. However, one of the most talked about smartphones in the line-up is the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max.
Recently, Xiaomi 16 Pro Max live images were leaked, revealing the return of one of its most distinctive features — the secondary rear display.
The smartphone has a large, horizontally aligned camera island that appears to house two vertically stacked sensors on the left, while a third camera and LED flash sit just below. Most notably, the entire deco seems to incorporate a secondary display, allowing users to view notifications, take selfies with the rear cameras, or add a futuristic aesthetic touch.

Earlier, it was reported that the secondary screen will be equipped with LTPO technology, and as a result, the device will offer a high-resolution and high-refresh rate experience. It is also one of the brightest panels, and hence it can be utilized effectively in different lighting conditions. It has been leaked that it will be much more than just a gimmick of a visual nature, as it will sustain most interactive functions such as Always-On Display (AOD) clock, live information feed, and smart notifications, etc.
More Details
Xiaomi 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.8-inch 2K flat display. Another highlight of the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max is that it will use LIPO ( Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology. This advanced screen technology enables ultra-thin bezels and an immersive screen-to-body ratio. The ultimate goal is to make the black border of the display thinner than 1.1mm, and when combined with the frame, it will have 1.2 mm of symmetrical bezels all around.
The device will feature a triple camera setup of 50MP + 50MP + 50MP. The main camera will be a 50MP 1/1.28 SmartSens 580 sensor, a 50MP UW, and a 50MP GN8 5X periscope camera with a 1/1.95 sensor size.
Given its large size, the Pro Max variant will be equipped with a large 7500mAh battery with high-density silicon content for better battery life cycle and efficiency. And it will be paired with fast 100W wired and 50W wireless charging technology. Together with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is based on TSMC 3NE fabrication, we can expect leading battery endurance, which can easily give a backup of more than a day.
