Xiaomi is preparing to launch its Xiaomi 17 Series smartphones globally on 28th February. The brand has also confirmed that its next-generation Xiaomi Pad 8 Series will also be released on the same day. However, for the Indian market, Xiaomi will only launch the base Pad 8, while globally, both the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro will be launched.

Both the Xiaomi Pad 8 and the Pad 8 Pro share an identical design and display, featuring an 11.2-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 3200 x 2136 pixels. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring fluid visuals whether you’re gaming, streaming, or scrolling. The tablet also boasts a peak brightness of 800 nits. In terms of form factor, the devices are slim and lightweight. Measuring 255.22 x 173.42 x 5.80mm and weighing just 494g.
The distinction between the two models primarily lies in performance. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, making it a powerhouse for demanding tasks such as high-end gaming and multitasking. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Pad 8 runs on the slightly toned-down yet still powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which promises excellent performance for everyday use and gaming. Both models run Android 16 with HyperOS 3.
In terms of cameras, the Pad 8 Pro clearly stands out. It features a 50MP main sensor and a 32MP front-facing camera. The standard Pad 8 comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter, sufficient for casual snaps and online meetings. Both tablets are also equipped with a 9200mAh battery.
