Google Play Logo Redesigned on the Occasion of its 10th Anniversary

On the occasion of it’s Play Services turning 10 years old, Google is offering a 10x Play Points boost for users throughout the day. Aside from this, Google is also making slight design changes to the Play logo.

The new logo is much smoother on the edges, with four distinct colors within. While it’s yet to roll out to all Play clients around the world, Google said it was made so as to reflect the “magic of Google”.

Google Play 10th Anniversary

Google Play is one of the major services for the functioning of the Android community, with it being the only recommended place to obtain apps. Being Android Market until March 2012, Google renamed it Google Play with a major focus on games and apps.

Although it removed the Play Music and Play Movies & TV over time, we have audiobooks and games with a major focus. Now, Google Play is being used by over 2.5 billion people in 190 countries, aided by more than 2 million app developers.

It’s available not just on Android phones but on Android tablets, Wear OS watches, Android/Google TV sets, Chromebooks, and Android Automotive cars. Celebrating this wide availability and 10 years of service, Google is offering a 10x play points boost to purchases made on the day.

Well, Google noted that it starts based on the countries. So to see if this program is available for you, head onto to the “Earn” tab of Play Points Home to learn more. You can also go to your profile photo > Play Points to check the availability of offers.

Besides this, Google has also redesigned the logo of Play – with the new one having better-rounded edges and darkened colors, viz blue (#4285F4), red (#EA4335), yellow (#FBBC04), and green (#34A853). This will be rolling out to all the Android clients gradually. Google said the new design would reflect the “magic of Google and matches the branding shared by many of our helpful products — Search, Assistant, Photos, Gmail, and more.”
