Sending voice notes on Twitter is now possible with the latest update to the social media app. While the voice notes or voice message feature is not new, as it already exists on platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp, it’s introduction to Twitter brings added convenience. Voice notes are particularly useful in situations where typing is difficult or not feasible. However, considering that Twitter is primarily used for other purposes besides chatting, the usefulness of this feature remains to be seen. In this article, we will guide you on how to send voice notes on Twitter, which works similarly to other apps with comparable features.
Currently, the Twitter app allows you to send recorded messages of up to 140 seconds or 2.3 minutes in length, which is generally sufficient for most users. It is worth noting that this feature may not appear in every chat, mainly because some recipients may still be using an older version of the app that does not support voice notes or messages. So, let’s walk through the steps on how to send voice notes on Twitter:
- Update your Twitter app to the latest version.
- Open the Twitter app on your device.
- Tap on the messages tab and open the chat with the recipient you want to send the voice note to. Alternatively, you can open any profile and tap on the DM(Direct Message) option to open the chat box.
- Within the chat box, you will notice a small sound wave icon located to the right.
- Press and hold the sound wave icon to begin recording your message. If you start typing anything in the chat box, the sound wave icon will disappear and you will see the regular send icon instead.
- Once you have finished recording your message, swipe up on the sound wave icon to send the recorded voice note.
If you wish to delete the recorded message before sending it, simply release the hold on the sound wave icon. This will provide you with the option to delete the message. Tap on delete to remove the recorded voice note. Following these steps will enable you to send voice notes on Twitter with ease.
