At it’s peak performance event held on 8th March 2022, Apple revealed a couple of products including the third generation of low-cost iPhone known as iPhone SE (2022). At it’s product presentation, Apple did not reveal the amount of RAM the iPhone SE (2022) comes with. More focus was on the A15 Bionic chip and the 5G modem inside the iPhone. Now it is revealed that the third generation of iPhone SE comes with more RAM than it’s second generation.
According to MacRumors, iPhone SE (2022) does come with the same amount of RAM as the iPhone 13 and the 13 Mini. There are a few under the hood upgrades on this year’s SE model including Apple’s latest A15 Bionic chip, 5G model, and more RAM. Although the device comes with the same 4.7-inch IPS LCD and the single 12 MP camera as seen in the 2020 model, the company does increase the amount of RAM. The third generation of SE model comes with 4GB of RAM as compared to 3GB RAM which was found in the second generation. We can assume that this is why the company has bumped the base price to $430 from $399.
So, a $430 iPhone SE (2022) has the same amount of RAM and same chipset as the more expensive iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 whose price starts at $699. The same internal specifications as the more expensive iPhone will encourage the users to buy iPhone SE (2022) as the performance will be very similar to that of the iPhone 13 series. Yes, there are some specifications cut and the design of the newly announced device is outdated but still, it is a good option if you want to buy an iPhone and your pocket does not allow you to purchase a $699 phone.
