Oppo Reno 8

Oppo Reno 8 series goes official in China today. The series consists of three devices – Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and the Reno 8 Pro Plus. The series is the successor of the Oppo Reno 7 series launched last year. Let’s have a detailed look at the specifications of these devices.

Oppo Reno 8 series specifications:

Oppo Reno 8:

The standard Oppo Reno 8 features a flat 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 1080*2400 pixels resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. This display has an 84.7 percent screen-to-body ratio and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On the top, left corner of the display is a pinch-hole cutout for the 32 MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and at the bottom of the display is an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The Reno 8 comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device is available in 8/126GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB storage options. It is also the second device to come with Dimensity 1300 SoC after the recently launched OnePlus Nord 2T.

The device is also equipped with a 4500 mAH battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging with a fast charger included in the box and it runs on ColorOS 12.1 on top of Android 12 out of the box.

On the rear side is a triple camera system with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 2 MP macro sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The rear camera module blends into the rear panel and houses big circular camera lenses along with the LED flashlight. Oppo released the standard Reno 8 in seven different color options – Clear sky blue, Drunk, Undercurrent, Night Tour Black, Encounter Blue, Roaming Grey, and Happy.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro Specifications:

The Pro model looks almost similar to the standard model with a big camera module housing a triple rear camera system at the back and a flat AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout, and an under-display fingerprint scanner on the front

The display is a flat 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a fast 120 Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner for the same 32 MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture.

It is the first device to come with the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device is available in 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB storage options.

There is a triple rear camera system that consists of a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2 MP macro sensor.

Similar to its standard variant it also comes with a 4500 mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging with a fast charger included in the box and it runs on ColorOS 12.1 on top of Android 12 out of the box.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro Plus Specifications:

The Pro Plus is the top-of-the-line variant among the three models and comes with a slightly bigger display but with a similar design as the other two devices. It features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120 Hz fast refresh rate.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC which we have seen on OnePlus Nord Ace launched recently. The Chipset is paired with up to 12GB of LPRRD5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device is available in 8/128GB, and 12/256GB storage options.

It comes with the same battery capacity and fast charging support along with the ColorOS 12.1 on top of Android 12 and has the same triple rear camera system as its other two siblings.

Pricing:

The standard Oppo Reno 8 is priced at CNY 2499 for 8 + 128GB storage variant, CNY 2699 for the 8 + 256Gb storage variant, and CNY 3999 for the 12 + 256GB storage variant.

The Reno 8 Pro is priced at CNY 2999 for 8 + 128GB storage variant, CNY 3199 for the 8 + 256Gb storage variant, and CNY 3499 for the 12 + 256GB storage variant.

The Reno 8 Pro Plus is priced at CNY 3999 for the 8 + 256GB storage variant and CNY 3699 for the 12 + 256GB storage variant.
