Oppo released it’s Oppo Reno 8 series today in India, two months after the series went official in China. The series consists of two devices – the Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. There was another device in the series called Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ which launched in China but that device has not been released in India as of now. It is an upper mid-range device that comes with an 80W fast charging and dimensity SoC. The detailed specifications of both the devices are as follow.
The Pro variant Specifications:
The Reno 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and comes with a 120Hz fast refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The display also supports the O1 Ultra vision engine for a vivid viewing experience. There is a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calls. At the bottom part of the display is the under-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics, and the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Inside the device is the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC at the helm paired with up with a 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device comes with ColorOS 12.1 on top of Android 12 out of the box.
The rear side of the device has a very similar design to the previous Reno series devices. For optics, there is a triple camera system on the rear side which includes a Sony IMX766 50MP main lens with f/1.8 aperture. The main lens is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. Just like other Reno devices, the main focus here is also on the cameras as the cameras are the highlight of this device. For better photography, the company has also added a MariSilicon X NPU chip which provides clear images and better AI noise reduction from the images. The camera system offers features like Night Mode, 4K Ultra HDR videos, 4K Ultra night videos, Hyper lapse, and much more.
The device is equipped with a 4500 mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging which can top up 50% of the battery in just 11 minutes. Other specification includes NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, Face unlock, X-linear motor, ultra-conductive cooling system, and much more.
