REDMI Note 17 Series Set to Launch in China on July 14: Bigger Batteries and New Design

Xiaomi’s sub-brand REDMI has officially confirmed that the REDMI Note 17 series will launch in China on July 14. The launch event is scheduled for 7:00 PM China time (4:30 PM IST). While the initial debut is limited to China, the series is expected to make its way to global markets soon, with the standard REDMI Note 17 already appearing on India’s BIS certification, hinting at an upcoming India launch. The REDMI Note 17 lineup is expected to include at least two models: the REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 Pro. Rumours also suggest that a REDMI Note 17 Pro Max could join the family later this year.

REDMI has completely changed the design this year with a cleaner, more minimalist look. The phones feature vertically aligned rear camera modules, while the back panels introduce unique finishes, including cloud-inspired and shooting-star patterns.

According to leaks, the standard REDMI Note 17 will sport a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display and be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, offering an upgrade over the REDMI Note 15’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. The device is also expected to pack a larger battery than its predecessor, with support for 67W wired fast charging. Other expected features include a 50MP primary camera and Android 16-based HyperOS 3.1 out of the box.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro is tipped to be the highlight of the series. It is rumoured to feature a massive 10,000mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever seen in the REDMI Note lineup. Other expected specifications include a 1.5K flat OLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, 50MP rear camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
