Xiaomi’s next-generation flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Series, is in development, and leaks and rumours aren’t stopping. According to a new leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi’s next-generation compact flagship features a 7000mAh battery and dual 200MP rear cameras. This is a significant jump from the 6,300mAh battery found in the Xiaomi 17 Pro. What makes this even more impressive is that, thanks to the silicon carbon battery technology, Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to maintain a compact body and similar in-hand feel as Xiaomi 17 Pro. The device will also feature wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a flagship water and dust-proof rating.
The smartphone is also tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 6 Pro chipset based on TSMC’s 2nm fabrication. The tipster has also mentioned that the device will be relatively compact and features ultra-narrow thin bezels on the display, thanks to LIPO technology.
On the camera front, Xiaomi appears to be aiming for a major leap. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is rumored to feature a 200MP primary camera, a huge upgrade over the 50-megapixel sensor on its predecessor. In addition, it may include a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, potentially setting a new benchmark for smartphone zoom in the compact flagship category. This dual 200MP setup could significantly enhance both standard photography and long-range imaging capabilities.
