Xiaomi has recently announced its Xiaomi 17 Series smartphones in China including the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The devices have already been confirmed to be launched globally and now the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra India launch is also almost confirmed. Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have both been listed on India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification platform.
According to the BIS database, the Xiaomi 17 carries the model number 25113PN0EI, while the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra appears with the model number 2512BPNDAI. BIS certification is mandatory for any smartphone launching in India, and such listings typically indicate that an official launch is approaching in the coming months.
Xiaomi 17 Series
Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch flat display with industry-leading screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is 8.06mm thin and weighs 191g. The bezels from all four sides are just 1.18mm thin, making it symmetrical. The display of Xiaomi 17 is also very luxurious, featuring brand new TCL’s M10 display material with a peak brightness of 3500 nits. The display also adopts a new large R angle design with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The Xiaomi 17 has a 1.5k resolution screen. The display features 1-120Hz LTPO tech for better power consumption. The device also features Xiaomi’s self-developed Longjing glass for durability. The smartphone is also the first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The smartphone features a triple camera setup with a 1/1.31 50MP Light Hunter 950 sensor main camera paired with a 50 MP OV50M ultra-wide lens and a 50MP 1/2.76 JN5 2.6X telephoto macro lens. The cameras are co-engineered with Leica, featuring a brand new Leica Summilux Lens. Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 will also support an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner from Goodix. The front camera has a 50 MP resolution. The smartphone will also come with an IP66+IP68+IP69 high-level Dust and Waterproof certification.
Xiaomi 17s battery gets a major boost from its predecessor, featuring a large 6250mAh battery paired with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a 6.9-inch flat display. This display of the 17 Pro Max adopts the industry’s first Real RGB screen structure, which makes the display resolution equivalent to a 2K resolution. The device also debuts the new Xiaomi Longjing glass 3. Despite housing a massive battery, the phone maintains a slim in-hand feel, with a thickness of 8.29mm and a weight of 224 grams.Just like its other siblings, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
However, the most highlighted feature of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its imaging capabilities. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, with a 50-megapixel LOFIC Light Hunter 1050L primary sensor with a 1-inch sensor size and OIS. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide camera and a powerful 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, supporting 3.2x to 4.3x continuous optical zoom. There is also a unique rotary zoom dial on the back that enhances manual control and shooting precision. For selfies, the phone packs a 50-megapixel OV50M front camera, and it supports up to 4K video recording.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also a major upgrade in battery capacity, featuring a large 6,000mAh battery, backed by 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The device also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for enhanced security.
