Players often report Forza Horizon 5 keeps crashing within the first few minutes of the game during the opening drive sequence. This is the first time Forza Horizon 5 has turned the entire open world into action, and the first chance for something to happen. The problem can also occur in the initial loading screen when first launching the game.

There can be many reasons why Horizon 5 won’t work on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S or Xbox one. This could be due to a lack of storage space on the internal or external drive (depending on where you installed the game). You may have a pending system update for your Xbox, or it may just be an ongoing issue with the Horizon or game servers and you will need to wait for the update to be released to fix the issue.

Here are different methods to solve the Forza Horizon 5 keeps crashing issue on Xbox One or Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Follow the solutions listed down below:-

Solution 1: Restart the Console

A simple restart of your Xbox usually fixes many problems and is well worth a try. Especially if Horizon 5 is stuck on the loading screen. If restarting doesn’t work, turn off your Xbox and unplug your Xbox from the outlet and wait 60 seconds, then plug your console back into the power source and turn it back on.

Solution 2: Check for Game updates

Solution 4: Check if your PC meets the requirement

Those having problems with the PC version should ensure that their system meets the system requirements for Forza Horizon 5. Playground Games has provided three levels of hardware, including minimum specifications, Recommended and ideal, detailing the CPU, GPU, and RAM requirements to achieve these thresholds.

Those with PC components below minimum specs are unlikely to experience Forza Horizon 5, which can cause problems when booting into the system. Those above the minimum specs can also benefit from lowering various graphics settings to match your PC’s hardware.

Installing the latest available version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 is also always helpful while keeping the relevant drivers up to date. While Forza Horizon 5 only requires the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (1909) on paper, we recommend updating your PC for the best gaming experience.

Solution 5: Check Game servers and your Internet Connection

If you try to play an online multiplayer game in Forza Horizon 5 such as Infection or King or try to join a friend’s convoy, your game will continue to crash or not load/launch if you are not connected to the Internet. So check your internet connection and also make sure there is no problem with the Forza Horizon 5 server, you can check this on their official Twitter page or make a general Google search online of the server status.
