You should also perform a factory reset on your console, as it’s possible that a system crash or cache data issue could be preventing your current connection from interacting with the online game server.

Note: Make sure that any installed app or game data is deleted from the console. You’ll need to sign in to your Xbox or PlayStation account after the factory reset.

To perform a hard reset on Xbox, follow the steps listed down below:

Step 1: Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the Guide menu.

Step 2: Select Profile & system.

Step 3: Go to Settings.

Step 4: Select System.

Step 5: Go to Console info.

Step 6: Select Reset console.

Step 7: Here you should select Reset and remove everything. This will delete all user data including accounts, saved games, settings, all installed apps & games, etc. Although you can choose to Reset and keep my games & apps, it may not resolve the issue in most cases.

Step 8: After you select the option, your Xbox console starts deleting and resetting the system to the factory default settings.

Step 9: Wait for the process to get completed then reboot the console. Finally, go through the initial setup process. You’ll need to log into your account and install the game again.

To perform a hard reset on PlayStation, follow the steps listed down below:

Step 1: Go to the Settings menu on the PlayStation console.

Step 2: Select the ‘Initialization’ tab.

Step 3: Select ‘Initialize PS4’ or ‘Initialize PS5’.

Step 4: From the next page, choose ‘Full’.

Step 5: Now, your PlayStation 4/5 will automatically start wiping itself to restore the factory defaults. This process may take a couple of hours depending on the installed data on the storage.

Step 6: Let the process complete. Once done, make sure to reboot the system.

Step 7: Finally, complete the initial setup process on the console, sign in to your account then install the game again.
