We all missed some important calls on our phones in the past when our phone was in silent mode. It is important to hear the ringtone, specifically when you are expecting an important call. There are things that you can do to make sure you get notified of calls, and the first thing to do is unsilence your phone. Today we will discuss how to unsilence calls on iPhone.
How To Unsilence Calls On iPhone
Switch off silent mode
iPhones come with a special silence mode button which makes the life of every user convenient. If your phone is not ringing and it is in silent mode, then switching the silent mode off is important. To switch off the silent mode, move the switch, which is located on the top left-hand side of your iPhone, so that the orange part of the phone is hidden.
Switch off Silence Unknown Callers
Apple has introduced a new feature of Silence Unknown callers from iOS 13 and later. This setting blocks any calls from numbers that are not saved in the contact. This setting can be turned off by going to the iPhone’s Settings app and then to the Phone option. In the Phone option, you can find Silence Unknown Callers. Just go ahead and turn this setting off by tapping on it. The background will turn grey once the setting is turned off. Once this is done, you will receive any calls from numbers not saved in your contact list. If you turn off this setting, you might get a lot of spam calls in the future.
Increase your iPhone ringer and alert
If you decrease the ringer volume on your iPhone to zero, your phone will automatically turn on silent mode. The ringer volume can be increased simply by increasing the volume button on the home page of the iPhone. Users can also open the Settings app, go to Sound and Haptics, and increase the volume from Ringer and Alerts slider. Move the slider to the right and it will increase the phone volume as well.
Disconnect Bluetooth devices
If your iPhone is connected to an external Bluetooth speaker, then you might not be able to hear your phone ringing. Make sure to switch off the Bluetooth button so that you get to hear it every time your phone rings. If you use an iPhone X or any later phone, you can directly switch the Bluetooth off from the control center. If you own an older version iPhone, you will have to go to the setting application, Bluetooth, and switch it off.
If you have an iPhone, these steps will surely come in handy to unsilence your iPhone. Even after trying all these steps, if your phone is still in silent mode, it is recommended to restart it. If the problem persists, taking it to the service center will be your smartest decision.
