If you love social media, Snapchat can be one of your favorite social media platforms where you can have a conversation with your friends and share stories. However, if you suspect that one of your friends has blocked you on Snapchat, but you cannot understand how to find out, here is how to know if someone blocked you on Snapchat.
How to know if someone blocked you on Snapchat?
Snapchat doesn’t send any notification for blocking, so you will need to find out whether someone has blocked you or not. Here we have mentioned some methods to find it out.
Recent conversations
The first thing you can do to know whether you are blocked or not is to check out your recent conversation with that person. You’ll have to see whether they are showing up in your chat history or not. It will be your first clue if you have chatted with that user on Snapchat.
If the person is not appearing on your chat list even though you have chatted with the person recently, there are possibilities that the person has blocked you. This method will only work if you have had a recent conversation with that user and if it is not or you have cleared your chat history, you can try the next method.
Search the user
Search the user on Snapchat by clicking on the search icon. You can search the user by using both their username and full name. If the user has blocked you on Snapchat, you will not get any search results. If the user has deleted you from their friend list but hasn’t blocked you, you will be able to find the user searching by the name. If it is just an error on your end or a temporary issue, you will still find the user in your friend’s list and can continue sending the user your snaps, depending on that user’s privacy settings. Remember, the user will not be able to receive your snaps if they only allow their friends to contact them.
Also, it would be better if you knew the username of that user and searched by that instead of searching by their actual name or full name. There can be many other people with the same full name, but usernames are always unique, and that’s why you can directly search for the person you are looking for by using their username for this purpose.
If you cannot find the user on Snapchat after searching for that user by using the username, there are two possibilities. First, the user has blocked you on Snapchat or deleted his/her account. If you are still confused about whether the user has blocked you or not, move on to the next step.
Search for the user by using another account
If you are confused about whether the user has blocked you or they deactivated their account, the best trick to find out is by looking for the username using another Snapchat account. If you cannot find the user by using your account despite using their exact username in the search bar, you can try another account to search for the same. You can ask your friend to search for the username from their account. It is a preferable option you can go for as you don’t have to do any extra work here. You can just ask your friends, family members, or colleagues to search for that account on Snapchat. Also, you can sign out from your own account and create another brand new account to search for that user on Snapchat.
If you are willing to go for the second option, you must sign out from your existing account and download the app on a different mobile device. Now, you will need to sign up on the newly installed Snapchat and create your new account on that device.
Once you have created your account, you can try the previously mentioned steps on that account and confirm whether the user has blocked you on Snapchat or not.
