In-App purchases mostly clicked on by children erroneously can get you a high bill. You might have explained to your kids about not clicking on these ads, but these ads can get quite attractive and the kids go ahead and click on it. Therefore it would be best that you turned off this feature to avoid both mindful and erroneous in-app purchases. Here is how to turn off in-app purchases on iPhone.
To turn off the in-app purchases on iOS 13 follow the below steps:
Go to Settings
Next tap on Screen Time to turn it ON. For some, this feature may be turned on already. In this case, you can skip to Step 5.
Scroll down to Content & Privacy Restrictions
Next tap on Continue, and tap on ‘This is My (device)’ or ‘This is My Child’s (device)’.
- If you are the parent, who wants to restrict in-app purchases on your device and doesn’t want your kids to change the settings back, then click on ‘This is My (device)’ tap on Use Screen Time Passcode and create a password. You will be prompted to re-enter the password. If your iOS 13 is running on the latest version, then the device will prompt you for Apple ID and password. This is used by the device as a back-up in case you forget your Screen Time passcode.
- For parents that are setting up Screen Time on your children’s device, once you have tapped on ‘This is My Child’s (device)’ do as the prompts say and get to Parent Passcode. Create a password and re-enter to confirm. If your iOS 13 is running on the latest version, then the device will prompt you for Apple ID and password. This is used by the device as a back-up in case you forget your Screen Time passcode.
Next Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions, you will be prompted to enter the password you just created. Once you enter your password toggle the Content & Privacy ON.
From the list that you can see on the screen locate and tap on iTunes & App Store Purchases
Tap on In-app Purchases and change it to Don’t Allow
Once this is done, your children will not be able to make any in-app purchases. Follow these simple steps to turn off in-app purchases on iOS 13.
